SECURITY ASSESSMENT PROCESS
The following is a brief outline of the typical assessment process:
Before visiting your site, we will ask you to provide several documents for our evaluation. These usually consist of site and building layouts, current security rules, various forms, phone directories, employee handbooks, and related items. We only need what you already possess; if there's anything on our list you can't provide, it's not an issue.
We will help choose who to interview from your organization, including top management, department heads, and security-relevant staff. Interviews last around 30 to 45 minutes.
Upon arrival, we will interview the current person in charge of security, which could be the security or facilities manager. The interview lasts 2 to 3 hours and covers many details. Then, we will have a quick tour of the facility with them.
PSG will conduct individual interview sessions with each employee identified as relevant to the project. Depending on the organization's size, this process could take one, two, or more days.
At the conclusion of the interviews, we will conduct detailed inspections of certain areas of the facility and site. We may also spend extended periods of time observing certain areas of your facility, such as the building lobby or shipping/receiving loading docks.
We'll observe after hours using a light-check device to monitor the parking lot and site lighting. We'll assess after-hours traffic to evaluate site operations and get a sense of the neighborhood at night.
We will meet after visiting your site to update you on our progress and discuss next steps. We might share initial findings and advice, but we usually require time to analyze data for more meaningful guidance.
Our team will review all information to create a complete Security Assessment Report. This typically takes 2-3 weeks from our visit. During this time, we analyze the data, identify areas needing more research, and may revisit the site for further investigation. We might ask for more documents or details from your organization if necessary.
You will receive your Security Assessment Report upon completion. Your team will have the opportunity to review before our final meeting. We’ll discuss it together, either in person or through a teleconference, to address your questions or comments.
After obtaining your input, we will prepare a final Security Assessment Report incorporating your comments. If desired, we can formally present the Security Assessment Report to your senior management team or others.
At the conclusion of the assessment process, we remain available to assist you with implementing the recommendations in our report. This can include identifying vendors and sources of products and services, reviewing bid proposals, developing security policies and procedures, providing training, and assisting in other ways.
